Multi-Disciplinary and Graduated Approach

Mosaics-Of-Life Therapies is pleased to be offering a graduated, holistic approach to mental health.

We want to recognise and support the fact that no one therapeutic modality can meet everyone’s needs and experiences.

While rooted in psychotherapy, the practice recognizes that not everyone requires a clinical level of therapeutic input, and that a graduated response to individual needs can be more effective.

Our Team

Person-centred counselling

Person-centred counselling is a humanistic approach to therapy developed by Carl Rogers in the 1940s. It emphasizes the individual’s experience and innate capacity for growth, focusing on self-discovery and free will. It is grounded within three core conditions: unconditional positive regard, congruence, and empathic understanding, which create a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore theri inner experiences and make positive changes in their lives.

Our current counsellor is Sarah:

Warm, compassionate, I believe that everyone deserves a space to be heard,  understood, and accepted just as they are. My own journey led me to counselling after seeing how powerful it can be to have someone really listen — without judgement, without rushing to fix things, but simply being there alongside you as you find your way through. That’s what I aim to offer my clients: a calm, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

My approach is grounded in the Person Centred, but I can integrate by drawing from different types of therapy to suit each person’s unique needs. Sometimes that might mean talking things through; other times, using creative methods to express what’s hard to put into words.

I work with adults, children, and young people from the age of 11 upwards, and have experience supporting people through many of life’s challenges — anxiety, stress, depression, loss, identity, low self-esteem, or difficulties at work, school or in family life.

For me, counselling is about connection and growth. It’s about helping you make sense of your experiences, find new perspectives, and move forward feeling more grounded and at peace.

However you come to counselling, you’re welcome here — this is your space to talk, reflect, and begin to heal.

I am a Registered Member of the BACP.

Play therapy

Play therapy is mainly used with children up to the age of 11, to help them communicate at their own level through play. This can help them learn to cope with what they’re going through, to develop and to build relationships with others.

There are many different ways of undertaking play therapy, such as using musical instruments, books, sand trays, arts and crafts. It can also include role play, where children might dress up or play out difficult experiences with small figures, soft toys or puppets.

If you are interested in working with us on a freelance basis, please get in touch, we would love to hear from you.

Our current student on placement is Ella:

Ella is currently undertaking a Masters in psychological therapies with the Tavistock and Portman clinic, along with completing the clinical requirements to become an accredited child, young person and family psychodynamic psychotherapist (BPC accreditation).

No current openings in secondary schools.

If you are interested in placements in our other settings, do get in touch.

Non-clinical practitioner

Universal interventions can be very helpful in managing low level presentations, as well as act as a stepping stone to more specialised work.

This can be conducted as ELSA-informed sessions, Draw and Talk, Lego Therapy and much more.

Our current play practitioner is Hayley:

I am committed to supporting children’s emotional wellbeing by providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment in which they feel valued, understood, and able to express themselves. I have experience working directly with children, developing positive and trusting relationships through an ELSA-informed approach.

I deliver structured and child-centred sessions incorporating a range of therapeutic techniques, including Drawing and Talking, Lego Therapy, role play, play-based interventions, and sand tray work. Each session is carefully adapted to meet the individual needs of the child, promoting emotional literacy, resilience, and self-confidence.

These interventions provide an effective foundation for early support and can serve as a pathway to more specialised services where appropriate.

Speech and language therapy also enables individuals with eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties to eat and drink as safely and independently as possible.

If you are a qualified speech and language therapist and are intersted in working with us on a freelance basis, please get in touch, we would love to hear from you.

Occupational therapy

Occupational therapy, often referred to as OT, is a healthcare profession that focuses on developing, recovering, or maintaining the daily living and working skills of people with physical, mental, or cognitive impairments.
